For cartridges with an obvious refill plug e.g. ML-4500 / ML-1210 / ML-1510 / ML-1710 / ML-1750 / some Epson EPL printers etc
1. Shake the toner bottle vigorously before commencing, getting as much air into the toner as possible will help the powder flow like liquid.
2. Remove toner-sealing plug the round recessed cap in the left side of the cartridge (see picture left) using a flat blade screwdriver or a pair of pliers.
3. Hold the cartridge at a 45-degree angle and Insert the nozzle fully into the cartridge hole, then gently tap the bottle. If the toner stops flowing, remove the bottle, replace the bottle lid and give it another shake. This will allow the toner to flow again then continue pouring. Always leave a little space in the toner cartridge never overfill.
4. Replace toner sealing-plug – DONE!
UNSCREW and FILL METHOD
Use for cartridges without an obvious refill plug, can be used as an alternative method for cartridges with a plug.
1. Undo cartridge screws (4 or 5), there are four of five screws to remove depending on the model of printer usually posi-drive type.
2. Prise and lift off cover, the cartridge cover has four retaining clips that need to be gently prised open using a small blade screwdriver.
3. Cartridges with no visible “Refilling Plug”, If cartridge has no plug, fill directly into the toner chamber (hopper) after removing cover.
4. Fix Cartridge Cover Back into Place, to fix the cartridge cover back into place follow the reverse of steps 1 & 2
SAMSUNG ML1520 PRINTERS
The Samsung ML-1520 starter cartridge was designed to take a vastly reduced amount of toner. Only refill this cartridge to the top of the actuator blade (long plastic bar inside the toner hopper) this will ensure that you do not overfill the cartridge.
